IPnature™ is an in-house initiative from The Raised Eyebrow Society (TRES), an independent creative agency that specialises in campaigns for charities, good causes, and brands looking for commercially viable creative ideas that make a relevant contribution to a better world. 

IPnature™ aims to tackle the commercial exploitation of nature without compensation by collecting royalties from companies that use nature for commercial purposes, and redistributing the funds to support wildlife preservation efforts worldwide.

Why IPnature™?

Every day, countless businesses profit from nature’s beauty—through logos, branding, packaging and marketing—yet the natural world receives no financial compensation.  IPnature™ seeks to change this by creating a sustainable funding model that benefits conservation organisations working to  protect wildlife. Any business profiting from the use of nature should pay for usage, with the major corporations like Apple and Disney, which benefit significantly from nature-inspired branding, being encouraged to make the largest contributions.

How It Works

• Royalty Collection: We will gather modest fees from businesses that utilise nature-inspired names, images, and designs. For example, a taxi service named “Panda Cars” would contribute a small annual fee for using the name “Panda.” Multinational corporations like Apple and Disney would be expected to make more substantial contributions due to their significant use of nature in their branding and franchises.
   

• Supporting Conservation: The royalties collected will be distributed to various charities and organisations focused on wildlife protection and habitat preservation, ensuring that the funds directly benefit those working on the front lines of conservation.
   

• Encouraging Corporate Responsibility: Initially, we aim to engage companies through voluntary contributions as part of their Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives. Our goal is to inspire businesses to recognise their role in supporting nature.
   

• Advocating for Change: In the long term, we plan to work with legal experts and like-minded organisations to establish a system that requires these payments through international law.
